This who some ravens think Keaton Mitchell can be. Be interesting to see how the chargers use Mitchell this year
I wish we'd made him an offer. I'm not too sure about our RB room this year. If this is the year Henry finally looks his age there's not much behind him.

Justice is a good pass protector but he's getting older in RB years and coming off an injury.
Ali has never had the burst to look like an actual NFL RB.
Bisciotti's guy might be a year or 2 away from contributing.

Our TEs behind Andrews could be nothing at all.

Those are the skill positions I'm more worried about.

Between Zay, Bateman, Tez and the rookies we probably...no, who am I kidding? That's a thin group too.

Keaton never developed in the passing game - as a pass catcher or a pass protector.

If you thought those things were important in the offense under Monken, it's another level under the Johnson/Doyle offense.

I'm sure Mitchell will rack up a 146yd game with LA that'll have us pulling our hairs out but in the long run I understand why. You have to develop in the passing game and he didn't.

especially with a guy that can't carry a full load and isnt going to get many touches a game

Mitchell is in a weird spot where he can be a good rb1, but not so much an rb2.

i think i disagree
think he's a RB3 (at best) that people will continuously overvalue (until his athleticism fades) because of his home-run ability

but he doesnt offer you much between the tackles
doesnt offer you consistent workload
doesnt offer you value as a pass catcher or in pass pro
he's a homerun hitter but he doesnt offer you return or special teams value

which means he fits a very niche role as a change of pace back without any 3rd down value - but he's also not going to be the primary backup if your primary back goes down for extended time

he definitely has value but i think it's overrated by the fanbase

I don’t consider rb1 a pass catcher or pass protector. With a good OL in front of him he could probably take 15-20 carries most weeks and produce. Health and having an all time RB1 in front of him has made it not even a possibility.

I don't think his body would last at 15-20 carries. He's been banged up a lot in his short career, and that's with a much lower workload than that.

Yeah and everyone named anything also failed him every year after that too lol
You make light of it, but it's absolutely true. He has been plagued mightily by hitherto reliable receivers/TEs suddenly having butter fingers... very unfortunate, almost snake bitten in the playoffs. Lamar should be sitting on a couple of Lombardis if his receivers and team mates played up to par.
