Around the NFL: News and Rumors

This would make a lot of sense, just depends on what the Eagles want for him. Foles isn't someone I would extend for too much money.

im not sure this is a vikings move though - they'd be giving up a pick for a demonstrably worse qb even if the contract is much less expensive

Marcus Peters terms have come out FYI: Rams have sent a 2018 4th round pick and a 2019 2nd round pick to the chiefs

Wow... the fact they thought so little of him to only trade him for a 2019 2nd and 4th in this year's draft is insane. A Top 5 corner, teams should be giving up more than that. If they were smart they wouldn't have budged unless the first round pick in this year's draft was included.

Add in to that the Chiefs are sending a 6th Round Pick to the Rams as well.

There is mutual interest between Cousins and the Vikings, and the Vikings having $55M in cap space. I'm starting to think the Cousins sweepstakes will be between the Jets & Vikings, and if Cousins says money isn't everything then he'll end up with the Vikings as they give him the best chance to win.

for 2 years of control too - they paid (in draft capital) marginally more than jimmy g for a less expensive contract and for 4 times the length of control guaranteed

lol when those initial candidates came out i always said Jets, Vikings, Browns (but only if they offer an historic contract)
I think the vikings think they can get him and i think they are going to be willing to pretty much match the 30mill/year that will likely be the jets starting point...

Reports are that only 2 teams were sniffing around Marcus peters and neither of the two teams were the colts or browns (despite their gms being there when he was drafted)

I wonder who the other team was...

Do you realize how much trading for Peters would have helped this team? A healthy cb, wouldn't have to worry about rushing Jimmy back, gives us the flexibility to cut Jimmy next year and would have given us the ability to cut Carr this year, while upgrading the position and saving money. My guess is they wouldn't have traded in the conference and Ozzie would be too cheap to give up the picks.

I think getting him out of the conference was probably a big part of it. He would have been a great get.

Chiefs cut another defensive player in S Ron Parks.

Panthers have cut DE Charles Johnson & S Kurt Coleman.

Bears officially release Pernell McPhee & S Quenton Demps.

I wouldn't mind him back, but he's had a number of injuries.

should hopefully come cheaper - and maybe he'll want to come back to the place where he performed his best (especially now that doom and upshaw arent here to reduce his potential snaps)

he's also a cap casualty rather than a free agent so doesnt count against the comp pick formula

We might get some clarification on the Catch Rule as according to NFL Network's Judy Battista, the competition committee is considering eliminating the "going to the ground" portion of the catch rule.

Also once again the NFL is looking into making DPI a 15 yard penalty.

As well as there could be a Josh McDaniels Rule now. I don't know whether to find it funny or ridiculous that there will now be ANOTHER rule that will be tied to the Patriots. I think the patriots lead the league in rule influences now.
