Welcome to Baltimore: Olaivavega Ioane

When you lock in on position value you start to miss the big picture. This was the best solution to improve our team in round 1, and it always felt like that was the case
Yea people keep citing position value like gaurd it's not 1/5 of the major problem that ended our season last year. You'll lose a game and season way quicker without no ability to block than you will with limited ability to rush, even though the second isn't ideal (or true regarding our upgrade with Trey and year 2 Mike)

position value goes out the window when max Crosby steps on your QBs foot
You can also scheme rushes and find guys with a little juice left, you will never ever get a great gaurd during the season. We can trade for any other position if it comes to that by deadline

THIS. I knew even if we made SB in 24 we were fighting an uphill battle against the Eagles front. Would have had to pull magic out our ass for that win.

Feel much less worried now if we're forced to start a rookie center with the current group.
Great point, if we had Jalen Carter on the other side of any superbowl we'd probably not win

Bain is obviously going to be great no doubt about that and it's going to hurt see him get 12 sacks against those ass falcons for a decade

But we aren't one player away from the Super Bowl or anything, we went 8-9 and lost the largest majority of depth and value of any free agency in years. Love that we prioritized need over straight up BPA

I would think center wise we might want someone a little more mobile for the run game with our two guards being more strength and power vs mobility? Right now our best two pullers and second level blockers are probably are tackled lol

Sucks we had to lose Lindy he would feast with Simpson and Vega

Let's see if they stick with it today. Get the players you need, no side quests.

before we drafted Vega i was looking more at Slaughter as the more "solid" guy

but with Vega and Simpson as you rightfully say, we can afford to take a C with the mobility to be a run game weapon

Logan Jones is basically Linderbaum-lite (highly mobile Iowa C in Lindy's image but he's 25 years old, shorter arms and can get thrown around a bit, tested similarly - in fact out-tested Linderbaum linearly - but Lindy's agilities were unprecedented)

Sam Hecht is the guy i really want - athletic with good core strength and he's the best technically of all the Cs in this year's class

those are the two guys i'd be schematically targeting - but Slaughter would still be a good pick and im also a fan of Trey Zuhn and Brian Parker as OT converts but obviously that's more projection

Parker Brailsford from Alabama?
He looks athletic. He played with Rosengarten at Washington, so they've probably got their eye on him, maybe in the 5th round.

Yes, he's that size as Gwynn.
Honestly, I don't know.

I was expecting a more mobile offensive line, but with Ioane, Simpson, and Jones, I don't see it that way anymore. I think is a line better for passing than running

I would really like either Zion Young or Denzel Boston for a 2nd round pick. I feel we may need to trade up for either.

I pretty confident you're about to see we're much closer than you think

It's funny that this thread is short and kinda already somewhat dead. Everyone just knows exactly what they need to about this dude. He's the truth
