Not gonna lie, ending up with more 4th round picks and Sadiq would have REALLY pissed me off.

I have seen nothing but great things said about Vega and his tape is crazy

I would be flaming EDC right now.. that bald headed mofo

zion is the edge profile we used to prioritise and have ended up moving away from
i partly think picking him was opened up to us by having picked mike green and signed trey hendrickson

to me young seems like less a new approach and more a course correction back to what has historically been successful for the franchise - with the general understanding that all NFL pass rush is predicated on power not speed - very few EDGE guys in the NFL can succeed through pure explosion if they dont have the ability to win with speed-to-power and can't bend through contact - recently we've strayed away from guys who play with power and focused on guys who win in college with burst, skill and speed and that's not paid off - albeit im bullish on mike green
This is a better way of putting it. Seems that the last power profile edge we drafted high was Courtney upshaw, since then it’s been Correa, bowser, Isaac, green. We did take Ferguson(RIP) but he was much more a DL profile than an edge and he had no bend.

Green has a good bit of power to his skill set so maybe the course correction began last year.

A guy who Zion reminds me of a little bit that is never mentioned, is maxx Crosby, there’s a certain relentless downhill and slippery way that he navigates the front that draws a comparison for me, along with the strong finish ability.

Having a deal and someone backing off is a different kettle of fish then the coach pushing for a particular player instead (though I would have taken Bain). Though considering the Ravens pick and the next 2 were the players they seemingly wanted... its probably for the best they did not make that trade.
Sounds like it was the Lions who were wanting to move up, and they felt confident that TB was taking Bain and NY was taking Sadiq either way. Felt like they were still going to get their guy and some extra capital to go with it. They were willing to risk it knowing that they'd at least get 1 of the 3 though, even if it didn't play out exactly as expected. Would guess Detroit got word they didn't need to worry about anyone swiping Miller from them so they backed out.

I mean I said Zion reminded me of Crosby lol. I think I was the first person to say that. His attitude and TFL just give me such Crosby vibes

i think they're going to be playing 2 different positions

Zay's zay
but i think sarratt's going to come in and challenge Bateman for his role
and i think the hope for Lane is that he either pushes or supersedes Tez Walker as that vertical "x"

so in a way i dont think sarratt and lane are competing against each other

With Wester as zay's backup it looks pretty set in stone

idk that it's even a total course correction
before they started taking the lighter edges, my complaint was that they were overindexing into the larger bodies and ignoring the value of these DPR and speed-based guys

they needed to find a balance rather than chasing one skillset

as you say, the only "big" edges we've drafted in the last fair few years are Ferguson (2019) and Robinson (2023... still under 260lbs)

I really believed in Tylan Wallace. Tough SOB to take down once he had the ball in his hands. I always felt he deserved more opportunites. Sarratt looks like a better version of that.

when i was watching sarratt, i definitely had similar thoughts - his profile and potential projection to the slot, is what we all wanted tylan wallace to be...

the difference is that Sarratt's a lot bigger than wallace (and maybe more fluid too)

Too lazy to read all that. What did you think Nurps LOL.

We think the draft was approached much differently then we have in the past. EDC wanted to hoard picks but Minter was pressing for Vega. The double dip in receiver seems to have us in a bit of tizzy because Jackson doesn't throw a certain ball that we think will be required for a receiver like Lane

I think you'd have to go back to Boldin for last time Ravens had a wr like what Sarrat wants to be.

And first time Bisciotti makes a draft pick with Adam Randall. Definitely a new era for the Ravens.

What did you think of getting Tight Ends.
