100%. Only other option is if you're at the point where the talent falls off a cliff
I’d say a team trying to get over the hump is justified to trade up for an edge, wr, or OT as well.even then, EDC has talked about the loser's curse in relation to the draft
the idea that you shouldnt chase certainty and trade up for guys because:
1) no certainty that the player you like won't just be there at your original pick
2) no certainty that the player you like is better than the player you end up with if they do get taken before your pick
which means that it's always more important to have more picks, more chances to be right given there's tons of luck involved in the process
that's obviously a reductive way of thinking if taken literally, and EDC has talked about the fact that he doesnt completely agree with the premise that all teams are equally good at evaluating and drafting - but the logic of it still rings true
you should only ever really be trading up (outside of day 3) for QBs
often the best trade, is the trade you didnt make
Yeah, well if we end up starting with someone equal to AQ Shipley or the turnstile Gino Gradkowski was, he may regret that.
I would rather Lamar had time to throw to a receiver we have like Bateman and have a decent line where he was not sacked for a loss, rushed to a sloppy throw or INT, stripped of the ball because defenders are all over our backfield, or get some push up front to open a hole for Henry, then have a new mid round receiver or TE to throw to. IMO there is greater value in having a damn good offensive line over a new face at receiver and that is not a lose lose situation, that is making this team better to me. Our offensive line was trash last year and I HATED IT!And then we'd be complaining that our WR and TE rooms suck. Lose lose situation. Better to stick and pick with the value than reach to fill a hole.
Not only are you drafting one of those guys at a higher value than what they’re worth, but you’re also using 3 picks to jump up and do it in this scenario. Very poor drafting strategy.I would rather Lamar had time to throw to a receiver we have like Bateman and have a decent line where he was not sacked for a loss, rushed to a sloppy throw or INT, stripped of the ball because defenders are all over our backfield, or get some push up front to open a hole for Henry, then have a new mid round receiver or TE to throw to. I think that's fair to be upset and demand better at OL, and I think it's an obvious concern for us after losing Linderbaum and Faalele (j/k j/k lol). We had a bad OL last year, but we did have good players in Stanley, Rosengarten and Linderbaum. Everyone underperformed and that is likely due to coaching. I think the OL will definitely be improved compared to last year. I think we will be OK but I also really wish we had a C.I would rather Lamar had time to throw to a receiver we have like Bateman and have a decent line where he was not sacked for a loss, rushed to a sloppy throw or INT, stripped of the ball because defenders are all over our backfield, or get some push up front to open a hole for Henry, then have a new mid round receiver or TE to throw to. I agree...... I fully expect the Ravens and Lamar to show the entire League that John Harbaugh was holding this team back from reaching it's potential. While Giants fans will be sitting there wondering why some players aren't in the game, why they stopped running the ball, what Harbaugh's dog house is all about, and every other Harbaugh trait we all grew to hate.All-in-all, I think the Ravens did a fine job with this draft. I like that they didn't go with a gradual switch, it was all in onto the new scheme on offense. Really excited to see how is all that going to look like. Kudos to EDC for doing the right thing and including and listening to all the new coaching staff. I reckon we will be much better from the get go than many people think.

Would you say the falcons did alright trading up for Julio? They didn’t win a ring but without that trade they’re never up 28-3 in the Super Bowl, not even close.im sure they'd feel that way
but the evidence doesnt actually necessarily support that
EDC seemed a little overwhelmed by his intensity over the phone lmaoZion told edc… “ it aint no secret what im finna do”…
Weaver got the phone and he instantly asked him “ is you ready”… you can tell zion mean business. You can tell by how his family was acting towards him too that he a serious fucker
I’m excited to see guys like Green, Zion, Lane, and Sarratt get a real shot to do what they do well, because Harbaugh was never about that, it was always “do everything well, follow the scheme, earn your keep on special teams” before you get a chance to just do what makes you a nfl caliber playerI agree...... Yeah I don’t think we’re about to creep into this new era, this ain’t the Macdonald Seahawks where we’re building from the ground up, we have a superstar qb who can carry a team to be competitive against all odds.All-in-all, I think the Ravens did a fine job with this draft. I think there's probably some method to the madness... If they are planning to have the dynamic kind of OFF that the picks would indicate and that includes getting 4 or 5 or even 6 guys into passing plays, that pulls a DEF off the Oline. And if they have the TE's in for a chip and go, DEF's are going to have to keep guys in coverage rather than stacking the line.I would rather Lamar had time to throw to a receiver we have like Bateman and have a decent line where he was not sacked for a loss, rushed to a sloppy throw or INT, stripped of the ball because defenders are all over our backfield, or get some push up front to open a hole for Henry, then have a new mid round receiver or TE to throw to.
