2026 NFL Draft Gameday Thread

What position will the Ravens select with their first pick in the draft

With the McCoy medical situation, it now really feels like we need one name to go before 14 for me to feel good about what we get.

Mendoza, Love, Tate, Tyson, Mauigoa, Ioane, Fano, Bain, Bailey, Reese, Styles, Delane, Downs

I wouldn't be thrilled with Styles just based on it not moving the needle as much as I like but he's a damn good player and if he's what's there and we can't move down, so be it.

But it really feels like we need one more guy not named above to go for us to get some of the premium talent.

If not, there are still guys I like - Concepcion, Sadiq, Proctor, Freeling, Mesidor, Thieneman - that I'd be okay with us taking if that's what we had to do, but they just feel like they don't pack quite the same punch.

Edc said guys coming out older arent 3 contract players so unless he was throwing people off, idk if we draft mesidor. We also got green and hendrickson so i dnt even know anymore if would go edge unless bain is there. The fact that some of these guys are even considered so early in draft got me hoping we trade the pick lol
 
Would never happen but i believe this is quentin nelson last year of contract with colts and colts dnt have many picks….dont know his worth but shit it wouldnt hurt to try

I agree for what it's worth, but the talent is what the talent is if it happens to play out this way. At that point, assuming the phones are quiet, you just take the highest impact player.

So I saw some mocks that have Bain going between 8 and 12. If he is available at 7-8 I would figure out a way to make that trade happen. I think Bain is the Kyle Hamilton of this cycle aka a player who we saw dominate and suddenly everyone is trying to second guess what our eyes told us based on a few measurables.

I wouldn't think they'd be shopping in the $16M comp for Oline space at the moment. And if you're trading for him, you'd have to a pay a top of the market extension certainly.

At minimum, you'd have to give up pick 45 to get up that high. Likely more.
Pretty much eliminates the possibility of significantly upgrading the Oline via the draft in year 1,

Going from 14 to 8 costs more than a 3rd but less than a 2nd so probably have to get their 3rd back after trading 1 and 2 (with some late rounds mixed around to even it out).
 
Welp, I didn't think I'd get a name this year. And I just got a name. I won't post it even in a spoiler tag to avoid the temptation, but the DMs are open for those that want to know what I'm hearing.
 
The Ravens have 2 areas on the team that are not good: IOL and pass rush. One great pass rusher doesnt solve the latter and no moves have been made for the former.

The 'welp' was more the surprise because I wasn't expecting a name. Apparently they got into a room this morning and agreed on a target... should they stay where they're at. I'll at least add that caveat.

How likely is it that they stay where they are at?
 
Then again I remember them saying they were not targeting Kyle Hamilton and then he fell inexplicably.

I can't put a percentage on it, but there is a certain subset of guys they're interested in going up to get if they get close enough and the return makes sense.

I think they'd always love to move back but I don't know that they're expecting a lot of teams to come calling. They know they're on the edge of the talent drop off.
