Day 1: April 23rd - 8pm ET
Day 2: April 24th - 7pm ET
Day 3: April 25th - 12pm ET

Pittsburgh

Broadcast on NFL Network, ESPN and ABC

ONLY 4 SLEEPS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!

This thread has RULES - please read them... they are important:
  • There are NO SPOILERS in this thread before the broadcast catches up (unfortunately last year, the broadcast itself decided to get the insiders to basically pre-spoil picks but there's nothing that can be done about that)
  • We realise that insiders sometimes drop the picks before they are shown on the broadcast and request posters to abstain from posting that information in this thread on draft night until after the pick has been broadcast
  • We will operate a 1 strike and you're out policy during broadcast - an initial verbal warning followed by a suspension for any further spoilers - suspensions could last for the rest of the draft
  • The no spoilers rule applies to days 1 and 2 of the draft - if you are not interested in the broadcast you are free to post spoilers elsewhere in the forum but not on this gameday thread
  • This rule does not apply on day 3 because of how behind the broadcast runs but as always please be considerate of your fellow posters
11 picks in the draft including 4 picks in round 5 should keep the draft interesting for us all the way through most of day 3. Similar/Better than last year where we owned the 6th round but not quite as fun as 2022 when we owned most of the 4th round...

Biggest change to the draft format-wise this year, teams only have 8 minutes on the clock in R1 vs the 10 minutes previously.

wow, wasn't aware of the change to 8 minutes on the clock in R1.

I swear that was absolute bullshit what those insiders were doing. Spoils the entire experience. What makes the NFL Draft special is the mystery leading up to each pick. If this keeps up, I might have to just mute it on the TV until Goodell speaks on the podium.

I don't really understand the concern about spoilers. (Not that I'm going to spoil anything here.)

Spoilers for movies and TV could rob you of the fun of seeing the story play out along the way but, with the draft, it just undermines Goodell on the mic and he's hardly a thrilling speaker, so I'm not too sure what pleasure that takes away from anyone.

So long as I get the information, I don't care.

My hope for this draft is that we don't pick anyone who doesn't play on the lines until at least Day 3, preferrably not until R5.
We've neglected the trenches for too long and no amount of DBs, WRs or TEs is going to cover for that weakness

They were spoiling it live on the air??

The ding noise followed by “with the ___ pick…” is the highlight of my year, don’t take this from me

Ravens make a splash and trade up for Tate.
I'd be all for it. I could be wrong and some teams ahead of us will act goofy and another Kyle Hamilton like guy will fall to us, but this year pick 14 seems extremely shitty. Like you gotta move up or down to get better value

Kinda sorta and it happened in 2024 as well. Like Schefter would say this [insert team] is most likely looking at draft a specific position and mention a specific name or two and BAM it would happen. No curveball, nothing. Back in 2024, when the Falcons made their decision to select Penix Jr., Schefter mentioned that they were looking at a QB for the future like right before the selection occurred.

Like bro, you couldn't wait until after the selection was made to explain their reasoning?
