There's a lot of talent at G in this draft. I would even say the best talent is in the 2-4th rounds. There's a definite drop-off in the 4th (maybe early 4th), and the C class is also pretty good (some good guys I like, not a very deep class but a generally good class). G is probably one of the strongest classes in this Draft along with TE, although TE is generally flat. All-in-all, TE, EDGE, IOL are the strengths of this Draft, IMHO. I'm pretty sure we will be heaving investing in these groups over the next 3 days.
That should definitely support the idea of NOT going TE in RD1. It's already not a great idea to pick that position in RD1 and if the draft has quality at that position in later rounds, you really shouldn't draft TE at 14.

We really don't need to do that if Vega is gone. I think he and Fano are the best OL in the class. I really like Mauigoa, too, but the medical reports are an unknown for me. I'd rather take Freeling if we have to as a Stanley replacement, even if he rides the bench.
If we dont go OL in 1st which im cool with, we then will be depending on 2 guys from rounde 2-7 with be starting on your oline this year as rookies

Not true, you do have Simpson @ LG and Emery Jones at RG, theoretically. You have a hole at C, for sure. TBH there's uncertainty across the entire OL. Stanley could become crippled any day, Rosengarten should be OK, but everyone else is kinda "what will they do?", really. I think we will likely have 1 Drafted player contribute to the OL. 2 would be a surprise, but not entirely impossible. I do like Vinson, and I like Bullock. So we will see. We definitely need more at OL, though.

This is also why I said I don't think it matters if we draft 5 OL. We aren't playing 5 OL as starters.

I read somewhere that we like peter woods alot.. is he actually pretty good?
He's kind of a weird fit. We have Madubuike for 3T, who is a much better player. Not sure I would have 2x 3T if you're running a 4-man front. In a 3-man front, it makes some sense. But we will certainly not be so fixated and likely rotating that front.

This is the first Draft I can remember praying for us to trade back. If we could get a 2027 2nd or 1st round pick, I would trade back in a heart beat. I'm not super impressed by the talent in this Draft. Maybe someone else is and someone falls and calls the Ravens dangling a 2027 pick.

Hope the Ravens via Cole tried to leak some Sadiq hype to get a team ahead to get antsy and take him. Leaving us with a Bain or someone who should have been taken to slide. As weird as it is, pick 14 is so much worse than even 12 in this shit draft

We can only hope brotha.

I was wearing my Oregon t-shirt today just because I felt like it, not realizing that today is NFL Draft Eve and constantly seeing Sadiq being mocked to us. If he's the one selected, then go ahead and blame me and send me to the Pit of Misery.

But in doing so, if he becomes the next great Ravens TE, I'm taking ALL of the fucking credit, ya heard me?!?!?!?

I will say, I wouldn’t be surprised. I’ve seen a few in the actual media say they have gotten no intel on what the Ravens are actually thinking, which is exactly how they want it. Things getting out could be intentional, however I’m not sure funneling that through Cole is exactly the impact they’re looking for if so.

Looking for depth isn't a hole. If the situation can be resolved by signing a vet min player then its not a hole and RB3 is one of those positions (and you can find RB3 on day 3 as well).

You can upgrade a position and not have it be a hole. With the 22/24 starters (depending on how you structure it) the hole is when you look at them and go "that is going to be a problem if they are the day 1 starter". I look at the roster and go IOL and pass rusher. If that is the Ravens starting IOL on day 1 of the season they have a bottom 5 IOL. Their pass rush last year was t28th in sacks last... so bottom 5 in the NFL and one player does not solve that problem and does not make it rise to league average.

I rank the WR as probably 15th-18th so average to very slightly below average. There are just a lot of teams that dont even have anyone on the level of Flowers and that elevates the entire unit. Andrews is still a good TE and will be the starter, unless they for some reason use their first on the TE and not Bain or IOL, so its strange to me to stress about who the backup TE will be. We already saw the Ravens are pretty bad about utilizing more than one TE in a game in general and the Ravens seem to be a TE factory so whoever they get will be good... somehow.
So ironically, you kind of made my point for me...
1. If iOL today is a weakness, and you have to give up a 2nd round pick to gain an advantage in another position, then the number or scenarios where it's still not a weakness, at the end of the draft, are high. Basically it means you need to find one, maybe two, starters, in rounds 3 or later in the draft. EDC ain't that good.
2. Why doesn't one player get you to league average? Did you do the math? 30 sacks last year. League average is basically right around 40. Do you expect Hendrickson to get you 10+ sacks? If you do, we're at league average today. And that's off the baseline of last year, which includes Mike Green @ 3.5 sacks (I'd expect more this year), and Madubuike, even if he played half a season, getting more than the 2 sacks he had last year (I'd bet the over on that as well).
I mean I'm all in on adding more pass rush, but not using two top 50 picks to achieve it in this class. Only way I'm doing that is if one is interior and one is Edge. I'd rather take somebody else in the first, trade back for someone, or take a guy or two later in the draft.
3. I'm certainly not stressing about the TE room. I'm just suggesting that at TE and RB, you're putting a gigantic amount of faith in some very older players not getting hurt in order for those units to not be total dog shit. You're talking about RB3... who's RB2?
Similarly at WR. Bateman gets hurt, you're fucked from a WR perspective. Just double team Flowers and the defense will be fine. And if Flowers misses any prolonged time, yikes.
In my opinion, with the prices at WR, you need to take a WR in the top 100 pretty much every year or every other year just to maintain competitive balance. And under this fictitious scenario, you're into day 3 looking for Oline depth and starters in that scenario.

The more I watch of Sadiq, the more I like him. I would love him in this offense. That puts enormous pressure on them to find answers at OL, edge, and corner.

I am really excited to see this Doyle offense. It’s going to be weird not having Pat out there.

Agreed

When it comes to Sadiq sometimes you gotta be willing to take a swing on a traits guy and let your coaches do their work with him. I would kinda prefer Vega or Omar Cooper, but I'd be interested in seeing Sadiq in our offense.
