Jesse Minter Head Coach

I really like that Jesse mentioned creating a system that allows the offense to get into a rhythm. The big splash plays are sexy and can still be there, but a structured offense that can move the ball and control the game is the key to consistent offensive success.

100% monken did not do enough to keep us on schedule and in a rhythm.

Sprinkling in one of the Huntley plays every handful of downs would have done so much

You gotta say though, Lamar can check to those plays at times too. Still baffles me why it hardly ever happens.

I've thought about this before, but...

Offensive play calls usually send in two plays, a run and a pass, right? The quarterback is given the freedom to choose between those two plays based on what he sees. But what we're often asking is to make a large change to the playcall.

I would wonder what the dynamic or feeling would be like if more quarterbacks tried to pull a Peyton Manning. You hire an OC to call the plays, so trying to be Peyton and just changing plays at will would surely cause some internal fiasco, right?

totally agree and he should have been hired as head coach with one of the openings. He's a good leader
Him and Co Cap both bring the “play like a Raven” culture with them. They should all complement each other well and Weav’s experience will help to get the young guys off their asses to put in the extra work needed to be champions. Have fun working together towards and accomplishing excellence, play freaking video games in March. lol

So why did we pick Orr over him? I always thought Weaver was the better coach.
Not a good reason. Orr was about to be poached by the Packers as their DC while we were in the interview process and Harb's obviously didn't want to lose another coach. I don't know why he chose Orr over Weaver though. We will never know.

I felt they thought Orr had the highest ceiling and they were trying to put a tourniquet on losing McDonald. That still might be the case in the long run, but it was a gamble that didn't pay off over the last 2.

And they lost much more than just Macdonald.

And now Orr accepted a downgraded job with the Seahawks. I wish him well though. He just wasn't ready for a DC job.
