Jesse Minter Head Coach

I was hoping between Kubiak, Minter or Webb. Excellent hire for us. And somebody who has familiarity with the organization. On to the coordinators!

a'ight. You guys seem to be pumped.

I understand that the organization has a real bad taste in their mouth with McDonald's success in Seattle. They feel like that brand of defense was born here and is rightfully ours. It was always going to be about the HC-coordinator pairing to me so I won't get an oversized opinion until it all plays out.

He was well regarded during his 4 years here and continued through a similar path as Mikey Mac. It was just a hunch, but I thought Steve would value him already being vetted in the organization along with his football lineage and acumen. Pretty sure he’ll attract a top notch staff as well. I mean you don’t know until you know but he seems like a great choice.

I feel a lot better about the defense but really want someone who can come in and fix the O-line and I don't really feel good about any of the potential coordinators doing that.
 
I'd have preferred an offensive coach but we could have done a lot worse than Minty Jester.

You got the feeling they'd hire a defensive coach after having a bad defense for 12 whole months. That kind of thing isn't tolerated in Baltimore,
 
Great to know that we have a coach that is going to solidify one side of the ball. Now let's go get Lamar a good OC and have Minter dominate on his side of the ball. Minter was one of my preferred guys for here after I gave up on Harbaugh so I am happy with this hiring
 
I'm happy with the hire, I know people would have wanted a Klint Kubiak or an offensive minded Head Coach. Lamar is Lamar, he doesn't need a offensive genius. Our issues in the Lamar era has been on the defensive side of the ball. As evidenced by this postseason, every team has been able to do the one thing we can't do... create turnovers and get off field on third downs.

Minter can bring back the Ravens defense we all know and love. I just really wonder what the offensive staff will look like, I do question the fit of Kliff Kingsbury but as long as the OC understands to keep running the ball and never pull Henry in the 4th quarter, I'm good.

The O line is much more important than the OC. If you protect Lamar he'll score against any defense and every season of his career has been ended by the O line getting dominated, either in a playoff game or all season long.
