2026 Offseason Thread

2. Diggs is a locker room cancer. There's a reason he's still unsigned. If you really wanted him, you wouldn't need to trade Bateman to get him.

I think the locker room cancer thing is a bit overblown. It's the reason nobody has ponied up his on field worth of 12-13m yet, but he'd be signed in a blink if his price went down to 8m or so. He's available because he knows somebody will get desperate when PS injuries mount up.

Locker room isn't as big of a deal as the off field is. Not exactly a quality human being. He'll get his shot but price isn't exactly the issue either... it's the human being.

I hope we sign Stefon. I don’t trust Bate at all

You keep saying this but dude has been in the league for what? Over a decade? And no one else has had a problem and he's never been arrested or anything right?

Correct, most teams do have a Bateman. And for most teams, he's their #2 WR.
Where are the names? Who's the #2 WR (or even the #1) on the Bills, Patriots or Chiefs, and what metric did you use to determine they were better or worse than Bateman? Same exercise for the Steelers, the Texans, etc.

In the AFC alone (as of today):
Jets, Dolphins, Patriots, Browns, Titans, Colts, Raiders for certain don't have a second WR better than Bateman on their roster. And I'd easily suggest the Bills and Chiefs are basically "on par" in that area. So that's 9 out of possible 15 comparables where the #2 WR on that team is equal to or worse than Bateman.

The only teams that would definitively be better are the Chargers, Broncos, Steelers, Jaguars, Bengals and Texans. And I think the Texans are fringe because their second best WR is Tank Dell, who missed all of last season basically, so no idea if he's even still good or not.

In case it wasn't clear to people, the AFC is pretty weak from a WR perspective. The NFC has a ton of teams with loaded receiving cores, which largely doesn't matter for the Ravens, because they're only playing those teams once every four years, roughly.
Texans number 2 will be Jayden Higgins. Tank was pretty bad after his rookie season with multiple devastating injuries, everyone in Houston loves him but we cannot count on him.

I think the ravens and Texans wr Corp is pretty close. For the Texans health is crucial for Nico and tank and the development of the Iowa state trio will determine how good they can be.

Ravens can be looking very good it Bate bounces back and the rooks catch on quickly

Heard a handful of Texans players speak about Diggs and it seems less cancerous and more he's got a distinct and loud personality which some appreciate and others not so much. Seems difficult for a brand new young staff to bring in, even Vrabel struggled with him last offseason

Literally just went through a lawsuit, even though he came out on top. 4 kids in a year. It’s not always criminal behavior that’s the issue.
You don’t have to be convicted of a crime to be a morally bankrupt narcissist who brings down every room you step in

He was arrested for allegedly attacking his live in chef over payments, and (again allegedly) strangling her. This came not long before the Patriots let him walk. So yeah, he has been arrested before.

All he do is fuck a lot of women and have kids like everyone else…. except media blows his shit up. Might start fking our players girls and we cant have that kinda distraction lol
Yeah, I had 5 kids last year, 3 in the oven this year. No one is writing about that. smh

Fux you mean like everyone else. lol

Not heard anything reported on his arbitrary "price tag". That shit tends to not matter because he can't pay himself.

"Everyone else" don't have three kids with three different women. There's a reason why the stereotypes of "absent fathers" continues to be perpetuated. Because there's a culture of men that still exist that think that's "cool".

I think in a better receiving class, or a more "normalized" one to one's prior, Tate goes nowhere near as high as he did. Most likely a teens to 20s guy.
I certainly don't think the Ravens evaluation of WRs is good. I'm suggesting that the teams that pretty consistently beat you have the same struggles in the same area. Which basically equates to "that's not the reason you're losing to them".
Yes but this falls into the same trap that bad teams do in that they just try and copy what the last team to win had. Saying "oh well these teams arent good at it so we dont need to be good at it" is how the bad organizations are run. The way to win in the NFL has always been the same: get elite players surrounded by good players. Where they are might change but the winning rosters are all elite players surrounded by good players and then the ball lands how it lands.

A single unit being bad does not kill the season but that doesnt mean you just ignore that it is bad because making it better improves the season. Bateman is a below average number 2. The fact that there are other teams that also have below average 2s does not change that fact.

I mean winning a lawsuit means I am not going to hold it against him as that is what it means to win.

If the biggest vice people have on the guy is that he likes to have sex then I think we are trying too hard to make him into something he is not.

I dnt think its cool but i also dgaf.. the amount of kids someone has dnt have anything to do with absent fathers.. an absent father is an absent rather regardless of thr amount of kids..

Im saying as men, those of us who like women atleast. He fk women and have kids.. .diggs is there for all his kids that i know of so why is it a big deal. He gets a lot of women so be it. Thats a problem now?
