The Q4 Heroics, the Tackling, and the Season is Over

I will say- if the Ravens retained Harbaugh and then retained Orr, but fired Monken, I would 100% throw the towel in on next season.

I'd watch every game and pray for a Super Bowl, but I'd have zero expectations with what Harbaugh and Orr have shown.

At least with Monken, Lamar put up two straight All Pro seasons and should have had back to back MVPs.

I’m so fucking angry it ended like this. Lamar was never 100 % and found another way to get us a big win and Loop chokes. Watch that kick again , it was so far right it was joke .

I could have kicked it better.

Yeah his story is not over. I actually liked the thought process behind their plan to develop him, but it all felt meaningless with this miss.

If there was one criticism I’ve had all year, it was treating him with kid gloves. Never really pushed him with any real competition in camp. And felt like they never really trusted him from distance so never really gave him the opportunity to try it, even when it made sense.

What I can say though… I know he’s hit from 75 in practice. And that was with a live rush. So there’s no reason to throw in the towel.
IDK, there's guys that can hit 70 harder all day in practice, this miss will be in his head a long time. I think a change of scenery would be best for him and the team.

Monken is better than Orr. Neither one should be on this team.

I can think of a reason...

I just have to wonder what failed to translate in game.

I can't remember which game it was, but in one of the games, it's a longer kick (like 55+) and Loop hits it beautifully and it's going right down the middle and... it came up like two yards short, at least.

I was actually in disbelief.

I can see it both ways.

On Monken’s side, the offense was anemic after the first drive until he pulled his head out of his ass in the 4th quarter. And I feel like it’s been the story for most of the season - there’s some genius in there but it’s hard to overlook the ineptitude elsewhere.

On Orr’s side, the defense dropped the ball after Hamilton went out but he’s not the one out there missing tackles. He hasn’t had the pass rush horses to succeed either. But he’s also had some dogshit vanilla calls that are obvious layups for the opposition.

If a scenario happens where both get fired, you might as well just clean house at that point.

Tyler Loop is a bad football player who ended our season. With that being said I feel for the guy because on top of what he's feeling, people are already sending him death threats.

It's one thing to complain with your boys, it's another thing to be a fucking psycho.

I talked about this with regards to Tucker, but I think of it like golf in a way.

Some guys can absolutely whack a ball and get some crazy distance, but they have zero control over where they drive the ball. They're just throwing full body into it without regard for where the ball goes.

Then you take the time to slow it down, clean up your swing, and focus on driving straight and the ball doesn't go as far as you're just focusing on making sure it's straight.

With time, you can put the strength behind the drive and keep it straight, but it's a process.

Perhaps Loop needs time to marry the two. I don't know. What I do know is that this season was very disappointing given he struggled from distance, as you said.
Perhaps Loop needs time to marry a set of nuts to himself, so he can not shrivel up like a bitch in tense moments

Harbaugh really comforting Loop heading back to the locker room lol. You soft as hell, this why we need a tough nosed Head Coach who benches players who suck.

If Orr is here next season, why should any of us watch the games? Why should we shell out money just to watch this team piss us off?

Like yeah he is Billy Cundiff v2. He doesn't deserve to die. He doesn't deserve to be threatened.

My theory is sports gambling has made insane and when they lose money, sometimes they just snap.
