2026 WR Thread

Ravens have spent 3 first round picks in the last 7 drafts on WRs.
The returns have been better than the 2010s but they could always do with more playmakers to join Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman.

And luckily it looks like this is a deep and potentially loaded WR class.

Jordyn Tyson and Carnell Tate probably the biggest names in the group right now.

Would you pick Tyson/Tate over trenches if they were somehow available?

couldn't say having not watched anyone yet

but as frustrating as this year has been on OL and DL, i'm not turning down a BPA option at another premium position if that's what they are

I like Denzel Boston. Not sure if here he will be in the Draft order but he’s pretty talented

if his release package and explosiveness were better, he'd be nailed on top 10 for sure
if teams think he's physical enough to overcome the lack of initial suddenness then he still might go top 10

if he tests poorly he might be more of a 2nd round guy

Feels like he's inching into that WR3/4 conversation with his usage in recent weeks. Don't think he prevents us from doing anything here though.
I hope he's given that shot. Like why did we spend a 4th on him with all his speed and real body size to simply not use him. He's looked decent in his limited snaps.

He seemed to be on the up and up earlier this season before getting injured and falling out of favor. He worked his way back into the rotation and was getting ST reps over a guy like Tylan Wallace, which I think says something. Seems they like him as a blocker too.

i mean he had some key blocks for derrick henry this weekend despite being under 200lbs

i'm all for upgrading from tylan wallace - happy for tez to be that guy

but that doesnt solve your dynamic playmaker WR2/WR3 issue

i do think there's far too many ravens fans who just haven't actually watched lamar play QB

he doesn't like throwing to big contested guys - he's not gonna put the ball up top for a big dude to go win a jump ball or a contested catch on a fade

he's going to throw a guy open or throw to an open guy - but he's not going to trust that a guy's going to get himself open on a low percentage outside shot play

if you want a guy with size, they'd better be able to separate over the middle and underneath

it's why i think the ravens are probably a team that will value physicality over size at receiver high (obviously if you get length too, that's a bonus)

not understanding the hype for some of the guys in this class

Carnell Tate - he's good but seeing top 10 grades in some places - he's a vertical threat with great contested catch ability but maybe not great long speed - not a YAC guy, not a guy who does a ton over the middle or in the intermediate area - has some nice route-running nuance especially up the stem - awesome on post routes stemming into the blindspot and then cutting at speed

but idk that that's enough for even a mid-1st round grade and i'm seeing people talk about him as an elite prospect in this class

Denzel Boston - big dude, smooth but not explosive and doesn't consistently separate in ways that feel like they'll translate - looks stiff and slow - again seeing borderline 1st round projections in some places - feels a bit like keon coleman to me - i could maybe be convinced in R2 but maybe not even then...

on the other side of things, outside of the obvious 2 guys in Tyson and Lemon - i really like KC Concepcion (of course i do) and omar cooper jr

and if you're looking for a freak who's still a bit of a projection (lots of YAC, injured in 2025) - check out Chris Bell - you have to have a clear development plan for him and you'll need to make sure in the interview that he's got the right mindset to grow and develop

some other interesting taller receivers:
Ted Hurst (lanky but agile and sudden)
Ja'Kobi Lane (inconsistent and unrefined but smoother and more sudden than boston - has some arrogant hands)
Chris Brazzel II (blazing deep threat, from the tape i wonder if he's got the right mindset though - lots of low effort snaps)

I think the sweet spot for WR is in rounds 2-4.

I’ll say if we fck around and wait too long and settle for kliff kingsbury, I’d be in on makai lemon 100%

I don’t like the idea of our top 2 WRs being so similar stylistically if we are still trying to run the ball out of heavier formations. If we’re gonna be an air it out type of offense then go ahead, but frankly I don’t like an air it out offense unless you have the OL for it

If you hire Kingsbury you’re committing to adding WR and OL this offseason - even more so than we have to anyway
