The Wiggins, the Offense, and the WIN!!!

I figured out my one major complaint from yesterday that I forgot to mention... Zay really needs to have some situational awareness. I appreciate that he's always looking for the extra yards but there were a few times yesterday where he needed to get to the sticks and was looking for something bigger and almost fucked it up.
I had Hollywood flashes, the only difference he was forced into tackle instead of going out of bounds on his own

My first thought when I was typing that was definitely Peyton about to get sacked but my point still stands lol
Brady

Much different. Zay moves backward looking for an angle to get past the defender, he doesn’t just fall down like Hollywood. On the play Simba mentioned he almost lost the first down.
Zay is about the same size as Hollywood, but his heart and balls are a lot bigger.

I get what you're saying and agree to an extent but didn't people kill Hollywood for not fighting for yards lol
I don't think it's comparable. I want him doing that in the open field if he has the chance. If he's on 3rd down and catches the ball 2 yards from the sticks, fall forward and get those 2 yards instead of looking for more.

I've got another. And maybe it'll get solved when Lamar comes back. But Likely isn't even an asset at this point. I get utilization is down because of the QB, but his penalty yardage and actual yardage are nearly identical.

Will see if TE usage increases when Lamar is back, but I'm not sold. Wasn't high usage for the first month. Think this offense is heavily reliant on Zay in the passing game, and they'll sprinkle in the rest between Bateman, Hopkins, etc.

Lmao I don’t think I’m wrong though in this. That one series inside the 20 where Huntley rolls left and misses Bateman, yeah if Huntley makes that difficult throw it’s a td, it was improvised and rolling left throwing back across your body is one of the hardest things a qb can do, so don’t count on that.

The fact that we ran Henry on first down, and took him off the field for 2nd and 3rd down, never once had Hopkins and likely on the field, and split justice hill out wide with an empty backfield on 2nd down, like how do you explain this decision?

With Huntley on the field you gotta make em think you’re gonna run on every play you possibly can. Empty backfield on 2nd down is just dumb. Our best red zone threats are Henry, Hopkins, and Likely, and we totally removed them from the equation in a key redzone possession, we do it often.
Dam i didnt know we did this

I was thinking this after the facemask/hands to the face as well. Think TE usage changes when Lamar is back and with Pat returning.

Thinking back, hasn't Likely generally only looked great either when Andrews it out or when Andrews is not playing well? I am struggling to remember a game or even a period where both players looked good.

In a single game? Not likely to happen due to usage.

I think even with Ricard back, I think you'll see higher snap counts for the TEs but not necessarily more targets. And I would have guessed you'd see more Likely and less Andrews, but those two were basically dead even in snap counts.

Obviously a function of Huntley with what I assume was much more 12 and 22 personnel groupings. Not sure we'll see that quite as much with Lamar in there, but it'll be gameplan specific.

Regardless, I'd be pretty happy that we didn't give Likely like $15M a year or whatever was the projections two months ago. On a team with so many areas to improve in the offseason, you're not getting the ROI on that anytime soon.

One thing i noticed in this game is Bears defenders were really going after punching the ball out with vigor .

If Andrews cant hold onto the ball he needs less playing time.

Yeah this season has most probably cost him money unless theres a huge change going forward.

depending on what you want to play, alot of those games are available on the new console.
I like to play some of those obscure, old JRPGs, but thankfully there's been a resurgence of remaking them.

I do need to get the classic catalog on my PS, though.

I get that but in general the TEs just haven't seemed to get involved as much as usual in the passing game.
We need to use likely and keep him warm as he's a dynamic athlete and player who can get insane yac. An efficient quick passing game to him over the middle is needed for teams who blitz us heavy. Lamar has been in play making mode for the most part but to beat these teams we struggle with we need more 5-8 yrs catches than "relying on hr"
