Next Up: vs Bears

I see the point being made in regard to Dean Pees and Chuck Pagano being of assistance but honestly when did coordinators stop needing help? Dean Pees has coached for a long time and I still remember when the ravens bought in Steve Spagnulo to help with the pass rush scheme which ended up leading to the ravens using the nascar package . Hmmm I wonder if it was his influence as well to move Pernell McPhee from defensive end to outside linebacker. I also remember when the ravens bought in Leslie Frazier to help with the team in regards to interceptions and etc. this was all during the time when the ravens had Deans Pees as their defensive coordinator so honestly it really doesn't matter how old or experienced a coordinator is help is likely always needed .

I don’t blame Lamar. I’d take my time too with this bum ass coaching staff. I wouldn’t even be mad if he doesn’t extend if Harbaugh’s still here
Also wouldn't be too sure Lamar is going to be giddy to sign an extension in the offseason if they replace Harbaugh with a new HC...

I just think its funny that so many fans hated Pees defenses when he was here in BAL and were ecstatic to see him leave, and now they're happy to see him back.

I think it's one thing to stack a veteran coach or two on the staff at the beginning of the season, but having to bring in someone from off the street 2 years in a row is not a good look.

It's because we're that bad that anyone brought in to help Orr is a plus. Half of last season we ranked last on D and I'm pretty sure we're last again in every category. Orr schemes just doesn't work with our players.

This right here. It's different to bring in help for certain positions but to bring in people to help the D coordinator cause he straight up sucks is different.

I see the point being made but Harbaugh made it clear before the season even started that Dean Pees would continue to be part of the coaching staff but not just in a full time role. He's basically a consultant and Pee's likely isn't at the stage or age in life where he wants to deal with football 24/7. I understand why they bought him in last year and I understand why they would continue to keep him around as well.

True lol. Honestly Dean Pees is probably one of the smartest defensive minds in football and I understand why the team would want to stay in contact or keep him on board with the team. Regardless if Pees and Pagano are helping Zach Orr it's still Orr that's calling the plays so honestly it's still Orr at end of the day unless some believe Dean Pees or Chuck Pagano is some where else calling the plays or something.

If you think about it Mikey Mac was a Pees protege for a number of years prior to becoming a DC, something Orr really didn't get the benefit of.

Orr when asked about senior citizen Pees coming out of retirement to save his ass again

Pees has not been in the building or around the team at all this season until recently

He played under Pees for multiple years. Think he got a year under Pees and then 2 years under a much better DC. In one year took a defense from 1st to worst. I truly don't get how people are defending this man with what we've seen the defense do before him and the investments on that side of the field.

That may be true but Harbaugh still said Dean Pees would be involved before this season started. I don't work for the ravens or have any inside information but just because Dean Pees has not been in the building or around the team at all this season until recently doesn't mean he hasn't been helping or given guidance through via telephone or through video chat with Zach Orr and company. I highly doubt Zach Orr and Dean Pees haven't chatted at all until recently when he showed up before and during the bye week

Harbaugh said it but it doesn’t make it true. Pees has not been involved all season up until recently. And I stress the ‘at all’

Right. My point is I don't see the big shake about Pees coming to town.
Without being with the team it's hard to know what the problem is, could be that Orr is a dud. But From what players are saying that doesn't seem like it's the case.

Players are saying what they have to say to keep collecting the checks.

No team gonna pay em if they throw coaches under the bus.
