The Defense, the Turnovers, and the Redzone

Defence actually showed some fight today.

They gave up 1 long drive at the start of the second half and then a 2 play short drive off of a sudden change in possession.

Pass rush still non-existent, starks took some rookie lumps in coverage, but much better team defence as a whole to go into the bye feeling a little more confident that it can turn around.

Running game was decent, linderbaum and faalele working well on some combo blocks but faalele also crucially ending up on the ground in some of those short yardage situations.

The turnovers were real killers. Rush looked awful, and like a complete waste of money. Zay gave up 2 fumbles.

Special teams was bad, got lucky that the wester fumble was called back, got lucky that karty missed a short field goal, but consistently losing the field position battle on kickoffs both in the return game and coverage game.

But the real killer was going 0-3 in the redzone. Redzone offence has looked terrible even with Lamar at QB. That sequence to go into the half from the 4 yard line was awful.

Ravens outgained the Rams today. Didn't really even look close to doing anything on the scoreboard though.

I dont think any phase played well today. The defense may technically have been best but they got big time lucky by very low probability stuff multiple times. Davante Adams isn't going to routinely drop 4 passes, one of which was a TD. Plus the kicker sucked.

Rush is garbage. OL is pretty bad too. They can find a few good plays here and there but in any important moment they're atrocious.

STs continues to be legitimately comical with how bad they are

Monken was beyond bad .

OC MALPRACTICE AT ITS FINEST.

He didn't use Henry when he should have and used him when he should not have.

This team sucks major ass and is a turnover machine.

The biggest embarrassment considering the talent in Ravens history.

I was proud on how the defense played. that's a Ravens style defense right there and hope it continues. They just need to add more pass rush help, possibly trade for guard and more pass rush help . This should be confidence booster for the defense because they did pretty well against a talented rams offense

The penalties on our best offensive drives was killer.

There is no doubt that Lamar is the glue that holds this team together.

Without him , they are miserable asswipes including the talented ones like Zay .

Thought we had a chance when they passed on the short field goal. The defense was better and Huntley moved the ball. Going forward he has to be the backup. 1-5 is the deepest of holes. If Jackson comes back 100% and stays 100% its possible. He can't be feeling a nagging injury though.

I quit watching the game after the Zay 3rd quarter fumble.

Defensively, the pass rushing on the edges was simply not there. I thought Alohi Gilman was active, solid against the run. Trenton Simpson, the one play against Kyren Williams aside, had some impressive plays. While I do not want him anywhere near Davante Adams, he was running with him on an incompletion earlier in that drive. A lot more positives defensively this week, even if we were helped by 2 separate drops. The run blocking was improved from prior weeks. Although I would like to see Zaire Mitchell-Paden phased out of it. It isn't entirely his fault since he seems to be miscast, but he gets virtually zero push on short-yardage attempts.

The Flowers fumbles unfortunately took the wind out of the sails. The biggest turning point was obviously the inability to go up 10-3, but losing 2 fumbles in that short of a span was a backbreaker. Even if I do understand his willingness to try to create on the first one. If Tyler Huntley was in the game at the half time, I wonder if this one could've swung a different way.

The fumbles are destroying this season from Henry to Zay.

Well the rams scored less points than I thought they would so that's a win I guess...

It's a start, right? I thought the Rams were one of the best teams in the NFL this year, record aside. This easily could've been a shellacking. We did cost ourselves the chance to actually win, but that is a genuine positive with our QB1 coming back into the fold.

Maybe? I honestly don't think this team is going to accomplish anything so long as Orr is here. The defense looks so lost at times that I just see this as a wasted season.

the lack of pressure is a real issue
but some of it's scheme and it's looking like that's not going anywhere

and with tavius robinson out, means we're going to see even less of mike green and KVN as a DPR type guy

if you looked at the depth chart to start the season, we're now down 3 of our 5 projected starters and just lost tavius robinson (who was basically the starter actually ahead of oweh anyway)
