Next Up: vs Rams

Im not gonna watch them if they're not trying. And certainly not with Cooper Rush. Yall let me know if they show any heart this game. My guess is no way the moment the Rams score their first TD on drive 1

I do think this game has turned into the turning point for the season, although I don't think the result really matters as far as a win or a loss.

What matters is how this team comes out. Do they come out strong, play with heart, and at least look like there's a fight? If so, I think you have to stay the course and try to compete, especially in a year where it looks like there are no clear better than the rest teams.

Do they come out looking like they have the last few weeks - lifeless, flat, and confused? I think I'm throwing in the towel at that point, because that speaks to a larger issue that I don't think can be remedied without significant change.

A loss doesn't kill us, but the way we show up does.
I think it'll depend on who's back. I'm not expecting Roquan, Marlon or Lamar out there. No inside info, just a hunch. We know Ricard won't be out there. Stanley I think has a good shot to play, and its total TBD on Awuzie/Hamilton.

I don't really see any paths to winning, and I think a game with several injured players out and "good effort" is still like a 17-20 point loss. I think the offense without Lamar is going to face the same problems as last week against a very good defense. If we score 14 points that'd be a lot. Even if the D plays a great game, they'll still give up like 20-25.

I think literally a "new season" starts on Monday. It'll involve either an entirely new DC, or major structural changes to the defense that are implemented in the bye week. Should have most of your injured players back for the Bears or Dolphins game.

Assuming 1-5, I think Bears and Dolphins are no question must win games. Any loss to either is pretty much season-ending in my opinion. I think if you want any shot to make the playoffs, you have to be at least 6-6 heading into December.

Yeah to be clear, I’m far from expecting us to win or really even be competitive as far as the scoreboard goes. But if whoever is out there on defense can show some fight and get a few stops, I’ll feel better. Essentially, just show some positive signs that this can get better.

even just winning a physical battle at some point - not just like playing with good technique but getting walked back - like someone win a collision and show some finish in a play

Essentially that. I think we know the healthy players we have out there right now simply aren’t good enough currently. But don’t get dog walked out there. Win a battle in the trenches. Get your hands on a receiver at the catch point. Play some disciplined ball.

Wiggins did and hurt himself lol. So far the best play we’ve made is not letting a rookie first time TD scorer keep the game ball

That was one of the best games ever Monday Night. So many mistakes on both sides, but neither team quit. Mahome never gave up. Lawrence could have given up but he didn't. Officiating was abysmal and both teams fought hard to the end. We haven't played like that in this stretch and last year the defense was passable but not outstanding. This year its completely different.

When Jackson comes back you have to be concerned the Hammy could reoccur. He has a lot of miles on him. Thousands of running yards. The Defense has been giving up points all year. The only team to not score big was Cleveland, but they don't score big. Don't think we can start 1-5 and think it can be overcome. Lamar Jackson needs to play if he can. There's no time to wait.

I don’t want to rush Lamar back but damn could we use a win
I mean 1-5 is not good but the nice advantage is after the bye the Ravens next 6 opponents are Bears-Dolphins-Vikings-Browns-Jets-Bengals. That is a very easy way to get right. The only team left that we are pretty sure is good is the Packers.

We could actually lose to the bears and vikes..browns gonna plays us tough too

Sounds like you should expect to see more man coverage this weekend. Sounds like they know they can't exist in this death by a thousand papercuts, playing 549 defensive snaps a game situation. Play man and if a big play happens, a big play happens. Gets the defense off the field at least.

Think you're going to see some fairly extensive lineup changes too.

Idk why its taken us so long to play more man anyway when we have been getting killed in this miscommunication zone of his
