Next Up: vs. Lions

Curious what the injury situation will be this week.

Ricard seems like he's still going to be on the shelf for a bit, while Likely could possibly make a return.

The secondary is concerning with Marlon nursing a groin injury and Wiggins coming out banged up too. Jaire is probably active again already.

Van Noy hasn't looked to have had much pass rush juice this year, but his intelligence and discipline will be a miss. Ojabo is the next man up.

The fact that we held them to 6 points in 2023 was a testament to how we won at the LOS on both sides tbh. I'm assuming their OL is still good? With the secondary injuries listed above, our front-7 is gonna have to show out again.

Hopefully, our offense continues to be high octane as well. I would think the Lions front 4 is inferior to the Browns. No way our running game is held to 45-ish yards again, right? RIGHT?!

I predict another “best defender in the nfl” caliber game from Hamilton, I think a lot of the lions offense is predicated on things that Hamilton is a menace at defending.

Hope like hell Wiggins is good to go because he can cover anyone they trot out there.

BRING. FUCKING. PRESSURE. Not wink style pressure but bring a 5th man fairly often and sim pressure on your 4 man rushes, stunts etc.

If Zach Orr has a good night, I think we see a lot of pressure on Goff, and a lot of big hits.

Think we’re in for a 75+ point total kinda night

If there was ever a game for our LBs to show out like they did against CLE, it's this one. Gibbs is like a homerun play on any given down.

The Lions signed Malik Cunningham in an attempt to "simulate" Lamar Jackson in practice. These teams never learn...... no matter how many times you try to "simulate" Lamar Jackson in practice, it simply does not work. Also.... if for whatever reason we end up in a shootout, Tyler Loop can officially become a Ravens Kicker by breaking the hearts of Lions fans. We all know, you are never truly a Ravens Kicker until you break the hearts of Lions fans.

I believe orr got away from stunts to have his own identity..

idk Lions front 4 is pretty powerful
Hutchinson, Reader, Tyleik Williams (their 1st round pick)

we're lucky that we're going to see them without Alim McNeill and probably without Marcus Davenport too
and they lost Levi Onwuzurike for the season back in July

I think it will be interesting to see how our run defense works early because the lions don't have a passing game without the run and PA. Goff struggles under pressure always but I doubt we can get to him. Seeing what James cook did to the decent jets defense last week makes me optimistic about how we shut JC down week 1.

That's the book on them, to this day if you hit Goff he will fold.

Easier said than done. However I think our strength being at dt instead of edges getting locked down by Detroit's elite tackles could help us. We have to be able to tee off on 3&7s plus, constant 3rd and 3 with Gibbs as the option will lead us to trouble. Defense better play discipline and Marlon should stop being an idiot
