Thursday Night Football
Commanders @ Packers: A Thursday Night Prime time duel between two of the NFL's young quarterbacks takes center stage at Lambeau Field as Jordan Love & the Green Bay Packers host Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders. Both teams got wins in week one in dominating fashion over division rivals, Commanders defense shut down the Giants offense and the Packers defense ensured Jared Goff and company had a quiet day. The Packers may be down two of the starting offensive lineman which is bad news for Jordan Love as the Commanders defense kept pressuring the Giants all day. Micah Parsons knows Washington very well as he has 10.5 sacks in his career against them, including 4.5 against Jayden Daniels which is what Green Bay needs to contain the mobility of Daniels in the run game. Was the Commanders' offense a product of a bad Giants defense or are they legit? Green Bay will provide a huge test for a Washington offense that thrived against the Giants last week. With NFC playoff seeding at play, both teams want to come out on top to ensure the tiebreaker come January.

Jaguars @ Bengals: Cats are on the menu to start the season for the Jacksonville Jaguars, as they beat the Carolina Panthers in week one at home. They head to Cincinnati to take on Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals who enter this game escaping with a win over the Cleveland Browns. Both of these teams are chasing history as the winner of this game will start the season 2-0 for the first time since 2018. Joe Burrow didn't look like a potential MVP candidate only completing 60.9% of his passes for 113 yards and 1 Touchdown against Cleveland. If the Browns had a Kicker, there's a chance my upset pick of the Bengals losing would have been correct. The Jaguars looked like a much better offense than what we saw with Cincinnati, and compared to the Bengals offensive line, the Jaguars kept Trevor Lawrence clean all game and didn't allow a single sack. Trey Hendrickson of course looks to change that stat but he only got one sack in week one against the Browns. Liam Cohen says Travis Hunter will play more defense this week, meaning we'll see him match up against Ja'Marr Chase & Tee Higgins in what should be a fun battle to watch all game.
Giants @ Cowboys: Both of these teams are looking for a bounce back win after losing in week one, but just because the Giants looked bad against Washington doesn't mean Dallas should overlook them. Dak Prescott is 13-2 all time against the Giants, both of those losses came in 2016, his rookie year. The Cowboys had a balanced attack against the Eagles defense but the ground game may be the way to go after the Giants allowed 220 yards rushing last week against the Commanders. As for the Giants, I guess New York is where QBs go to die then get resurrected elsewhere later. It had to pain Giants fans to see the game Daniel Jones had last week while Russell Wilson continues to be on a massive decline since leaving Seattle. If the struggles continue for Wilson, the voices will only get louder for Jaxson Dart to be the starter and it may be sooner than we think.
Bears @ Lions: They say you can't go home, but in the NFL you sure can. Ben Johnson makes an early return back to Detroit as the Bears Head Coach facing off against Dan Campbell and the Detroit Lions. The Bears had the Vikings reeling until the 4th quarter and the Vikings mounted a comeback to ruin Ben Johnson's Head Coaching debut. The Lions struggled against the Packers defense, but look to rebound at home. There's still a lot of improvement needed for Caleb Williams, but perhaps Ben Johnson can unlock that potential that made him the number one pick a couple years ago. I fully expect the Lions to rebound here as they are at home taking advantage of a Bears team that allowed a 4th quarter comeback on a short week.
Rams @ Titans: Broadway gets their first peek at Cam Ward in person as the Titans play host to the Los Angeles Rams, who are coming off a win over the Houston Texans. The Titans meanwhile, there's a lot to be desired on offense given Kicker Joey Slye accounted for all the Titans' points in the loss against Denver. The defense on the other hand, had 4 turnovers in the game and the first time since 2011 that the Titans have had a turnover in every quarter. If the defense can continue to create turnovers, it will give Cam Ward plenty of opportunities to win the game on Sunday. If not, then Matthew Stafford and the Rams offense will just go on like normal and come away with another win.
49ers @ Saints: Nothing goes better than the 49ers & Injuries, am I right? It's already starting for them as the news of George Kittle missing the next four games is already a big blow to the offense. Now, there's a chance that star QB Brock Purdy may not play on Sunday in New Orleans and anything over a game missed for Purdy is essentially one step closer to ending the 49ers season before it begins. This means Mac Jones could be line to start for the 49ers against Spencer Rattler and the New Orleans Saints, yay football! Despite that, I still think having CMC and the talent on the 49ers is enough to overcome the Saints who are looking for their first win in the Kellen Moore era.
