2026 NFL Draft General Discussion

Heard a few things today, and I don't believe I'm going to get a name this year. That's largely because (a) they don't feel they need to be locked in at 14 and are open to moving either direction and (b) there are a few teams looking to move up into the top 10ish to get the high end talent before it drops off.

I can at least confirm that they aren't lying about their OL board though. Doesn't mean they won't take a guy at 14 still, but they genuinely do have a lot of guys on the board and feel like they're equipped to take a couple that they believe will be early contributors.

They're most likely going to be drafting a P as well. Randy Brown has been on the circuit going all over the country and working these guys out.

They have 11 picks (for now) and are going to be taking a swing all up and down the depth chart, but OL, WR, and TE are the positions they'd really like to solve. They'll never complain about a pass rusher either but they feel good with Trey and think Mike Green is going to take the step they need.
Good to hear they think Mike green will take a step.

All22 did a study on green that showed he really only used one rush move for the most part, a jump and cross chop. He did theorize though that green potentially was not given freedom to counter inside and was told he had to keep outside for gap integrity so he was limited.

Is it legit when Kiper says Fano can play C? I dont think I buy that. Would Vega be able to play C? I just don't know how to mentally project that

I think they recognize that the entirety of that front 7 sans Travis Jones (when healthy) didn't play particularly well. Obviously losing Madubuike hurt the most, but KVN losing his legs too was a killer for that unit.

How I expect things to go ahead of us:

Raiders: Mendoza
Jets: Reese
Cards: Bailey
Titans: Love
Giants: Styles
Browns: Mauigoa
Commies: Bain
Saints: Tate
Chiefs: Tyson
Giants: Downs
Dolphins: Mansoor Delane
Cowboys: McCoy
Rams: Fano

That leaves us with Vega, Concepcion, and Cooper Jr as the most obvious choices.

Provided he can snap Fano would be an unbelievable Center. Ioane I don't know, probably not ideal.

McCoy isn't going to the cowboys with those medicals surely. I expect them to try and get up to go get Sonny Styles

Cool! What's your reasoning/thought process
It's just my way of seeing things, but if we're talking about a lineman converting to Center I want a guy who excels at combo blocking and being able to climb to the second level. I want a mix of mobility and footwork over physicality because you're rarely on an island.

it's a massive projection - he's never played the position
and i'm not drafting an OT to play C in the 1st round without evidence he can do it already - im happy to project guys from OT to OG but if you're moving a guy from OT to C, you're moving them there because you have genuine concerns about play-strength or length or range

that's the kind of thing you only do with late 1st rounders at the earliest and only if you think they're too talented to pass up (e.g. Graham Barton)

the guys in this class im happy to do that with are guys i like in R3 - Trey Zuhn III (and he's even played nearly 200 snaps at C), Brian Parker II

Vega's not a C - he's very much a G only prospect

he projects well there, but im not taking that risk in the top half of R1 on a guy i think is ultimately a C
(losing value because of a position change projection - and not a typical one, and also specifically changing position to a significantly less valuable position)

i think the cowboys are going to be mega high on Styles, Downs and Delane if any of those guys are in range
Styles fits like a glove there. Could see them giving up a day 2 pick to go up and get him.

Styles and then use their 2nd first to take a DB. If not McCoy maybe have a little reach on Chris Johnson ?

Are we ready for the most overrated sporting event of the year? I do follow the draft of course and will be waiting all night for the Ravens' pick. But ya'll do have to admit this is a lot of hoopla, pomp & circumstance for a group of kids whom 2/3 of which will have perfectly forgettable careers. Every year i have to explain to my wife what im watching for 3 hours and I'm embarrassed as I hear myself say it.
