So this may seem like a bit of a puzzling selection given the falling prospects still on the board, especially since I traded up for this selection. Miller can be a bit of an enigma. His lows are very much concerning, especially the drops that have come on the simplest of throws, i.e. screens, slants, etc. It is in part alleviated by the fact that he's capable of making adjustments to off-target throws and high-point the ball in 50-50 situations. I also am a fan of his cuts and ability in the open field. He seems like he plays with attitude. Otherwise, I just thought that he was the ideal fit. I have my big-bodied WRs in Michael Thomas and DeVante Parker. Miller should be able to rotate between the slot and the outside, with Thomas rotating between the two as well. And aspects of Memphis' offense are either already implements in the Saints current regimen or could be once/if Lamar Jackson takes the reigns. It was very much reliant on triple option RPOs, play-action roll outs, and jet sweeps. With Ted Ginn Jr. gone, I needed a WR who could be a threat as a gadget, and I feel like Miller fits the role well. There's a significant chance that he may not develop into a traditional quality starter, but at least he won't have to. That stands as a concern for each of my first three picks, those being Jackson, Jones and Miller. But if they do pan out, behind that OL, this offense could be fairly exciting in the future years.
