The NFL Kicker

I love this. I think there is so much that could be added to in the NFL on special teams. Everyone always improves the offense and the defense, but how much have returns, return defense, blocking ect changed in the last 40 years? Barely any. Try new formations to block shit. Try new ways to return punts, use more handoffs and laterals why not. I think this is a part of the game that is so important but no one seems to care.

The 2008 San Diego Chargers and 1999 Raiders cared.
 
it's why jerry rosberg always has this unit at or close to number 1 in the league - it's also why some of the best kickers in the league come through baltimore... tucker (obviously), gano, hauschka, lutz

Even the modern day charger sucks at special teams. Dumb as hell to cut Lambo. If I remember they were 1st in offense and defense and deadlast in special teams. Pretty funny. Then you have the raiders who said fuck it punter and kicker in the first round

Yep, first in offense and defense, but last in special teams. Went 8-8 that year.
