Update: Eric Decker Signed by Tennessee

Let's be clear though that Decker is exactly what the doctor ordered for our WR corps. Him and Woodhead would give us tons of first downs.

There in-lies the additional frustration because I presume we haven't executed the transaction because we prefer Maclin and want to see what he decides. This is quite the gamble and an unnecessary one in my opinion as Decker is the better, cheaper fit for our organization.

Or maybe Maclin is a complete smokescreen to lower Decker's price and get a trade for peanuts because the Jets FO is 100% trash.

Normally I would agree with this but the fact that we're saying he could still sign with us leads me to think we presented an offer to him of some sort that was worth him considering. If our offer was a low-ball offer, he'd likely either have taken the Bills offer assuming it wasn't also trash OR we'd have heard about additional visits set for next week.

Exactly along the lines of what I am thinking. One has to think the reason that Decker is still a Jet is because someone, hopefully us, has an understanding and unofficial deal in place to trade for him. It'd be so ironic if the Bills have interest in Decker too should they lose out on Maclin to us.

If we do have a deal, being a Ravens fan is a blessing and a curse because it stresses us out waiting for us to hear the news but at the same time we're one of the few organizations that you never usually hear big news before the team releases it. I think that allows us a lot of flexibility to get the shit done we need to do.
Yes many organizations have leaks, such as the skins, They have so many leaks, it's rare that anything happens that is a surprise. When the Ravens sign something, we rarely know about it before it happens.

Have to think Decker is possible because he could come pretty cheap. NYJ would (or at least should) be willing to eat some of the cap hit to avoid Decker ending up in Buffalo if he hits the open market.

So there'll be no move for Decker too then. There's going to be a number of teams with bigger cap space going after him.

Jets are releasing Eric Decker, per source. With other teams wanting NY to eat some Decker salary, NY could not make numbers work for trade.

Wouldn't be surprised to see us go hard after him, too. After the Jefferson deal, the Williams deal, and now the Maclin deal, I think we're going all in to win a Super Bowl or two in 2017 and 2018 -- before Joe's contract runs out. His contract's expiration is the deadline to win another Bowl, and I think we're trying to make it happen.

I'm fully convinced these next two years are a true make or break for Joe and Harbaugh. Why else make splashes like these? We never do. It's Super Bowl or Bust. And if we bust, we're cleaning house big time in 2019 when Joe's deal is up.

I can't imagine we will use up all our remaining cap space to sign Decker. IMHO, we should keep some in reserve in case we need to make any moves with our o-line.
