Next Up: vs Bears

There is an advantage in a situation like this one where the Bears had to prepare for Lamar all week. Minuscule as it is but it is an advantage. But yes I agree 100% that's just gamesmanship, not something any opposing coach actually gets their panties in a bunch over. If not for gambling this is a small fine for the team and barely newsworthy but the ravnes might lose a 2nd day pick over this and its all because of f'ing gambling.
lol they're not losing a day 2 pick. I doubt they'll lose a pick at all. They usually take picks off habitual offenders or egregious violations. Moderate fine is most likely.

John doesn't care at all about this stuff because a) he won't be the one paying the fine anyway and b) he's not the one responsible for the injury report classifications or reporting them.

Like we both said, in a sane world/league this would be a fine. But the NFl is so in bed with their gambling sponsors that I do believe this will cost the ravens a pick. The timing with NBA scandal is especially bad and that's why some pundits are predicting multiple picks or a pick as high as 2nd-3rd rdr. That's crazy talk imo, but I wouldn't be shocked at all to see a 4th or 5th and I'd be ecstatic if it's a lower.

We're not talking about a DB here. we're talking about Lamar jackson who single handedly swung the spread by 5 pts. I fully expect the league to take advantage of a Ravens team that always has extra picks via complimentary rule and make a painful example.

Show me the list of "pundits" predicting the loss of multiple draft picks. I've seen basically two parties report on this for more than 5 seconds.

Florio wrote like 20 hit pieces because he thinks the NFL is rigged and is terrified of gambling. And even he didn't say they WOULD get docked, but that they COULD. He just purely used the worst possible outcome to drum up interest in his articles. He's the guy who says an 80 year old woman could do jail time for doing 5mph over the speed limit.

Schefter has been clear since that this is a "likely fine" scenario. Not seen anybody else report anything other than guessing.

I don't think the NFL really cares about this at all. I think the media wants them to care about it because the media wants to be able to criticize them for using sportsbooks as sponsors. But this doesn't in any way impact the integrity of the game, sportsbooks don't give a fuck about this at all, and nobody gives a fuck about the customers, since to acknowledge this as a big deal is the equivalent of saying "yes, we care about your immoral addiction to gambling".

There's a couple including Florio, I guess the others have been on social media and such. I hope that's the case, but that NBA scandal is looming pretty large right now.

Yeah so if you read these articles, they're conjecture. There's no sources identified or really gives any opinion at all of what will actually happen. Both articles quite literally say "here's the wide range of consequences, and we have no idea how the league will rule". There is nothing here that says anything about expectations.

There's been a handful of documented cases in the past regarding improprieties on injury classifications and injury report issues. All of have resulted in fines.

People have already moved on from the NBA scandal. They've already had bigger one's in the past that people have forgotten about. Hell the only name people actually recognized did literally nothing that involved the NBA at all. All these things happen and sports betting is as popular as ever. Standard procedure of don't listen to what the fans say, listen to what they do.
