Preaching to the choir, friend. I'm the self-appointed President of the Flacco Homer Association.
And I agree. If he goes to NYG and gets to work with guys like OBJ, Barkley, Engram, etc, well, I feel sorry for the NFC.
I actually think I do give Lamar plenty of leeway; not that my or your or anyone's opinion of him or Flacco means much in the grand scheme of things...and hell, not to pat myself on the back, but I predicted that Mayfield and Lamar would be the best QBs from this draft and I nearly shit myself...
Putting Flacco on a pedestal? No, just recognizing him for what he was when healthy and in his prime. He hasn't been either of those things for a couple years. When he was, he probably had the nastiest deep ball in the game and threw into windows that only the elite QBs would even attempt. He...
I'm not debating that; mechanics and footwork can be improved. That does not necessarily equate into more accurate throws, unless your throwing motion or feet are terrible to begin with, but it will usually reduce the amount of grossly errant throws. It can help somewhat with your placement. For...
Yes, it can be helped somewhat. But you are not going to be "coached up" and go from an inaccurate passer to an accurate one. You cannot teach accuracy any more than you can arm strength. If you could, there would be no such thing as inaccurate QBs in the NFL.
Just like RaineV1 said above...we've heard this song and dance before. It was YEARS before they loosened the leash on Flacco, and Flacco was 100x better as a pure thrower than Lamar at that stage. These coaches are going to ruin this kid.
You're right. I was clamoring all week prior to our first game against LAC for the coaches to open up the playbook and unleash Lamar. But our coaches are a bunch of rubes. Most of the people on the boards here disagreed with me on that too, but maybe now they see the light and what I was getting...
Those things are more a reflection of the OC than anything. I'll never understand why this genius tried to turn Flacco into a checkdown queen, but has plays designed where Lamar is throwing deep to tight ends every other pass attempt while John Brown is running curls.
People forget that the...
I know this guy isn't as smart as some of you random internet guys, but worth a read anyway.

Summary:
“The other thing is, you can go grab a shortstop and teach him to play quarterback easier than you can...
Please. A lot of people seem to have very selective memory; quickly forgetting all the garbage throws and only remembering the times he gets it right.
"Making him better at making certain throws" is NOT the same thing as making him an accurate passer. It means that he can learn how to better...
Right. Very similar to Lamar and his groupies, as I said. It's very telling that any criticism of Lamar is typically met with comparisons to Flacco's perceived issues, or absurd assumptions like "he'll improve as a passer" or "we can coach that out of him" or "we can teach him how to throw...
You mean like how the Lamar fellaters pretend that you can just teach someone how to throw an accurate pass and play QB on the NFL level? I feel your pain.
You don't get it because you exaggerate. Nobody said he is the most accurate passer in history. And nobody but you seems to be foolish enough to think completion % means a thing.
I don't know where you get the notion that it can be. That's like saying you can teach arm strength. You can do things like correct poor mechanics or footwork that will help get a little more zip into a pass, but that is about it. You can't teach arm strength, can't teach accuracy, can't teach...
Exactly right. And accuracy was the big question mark on him coming out of college. I don't get why that is so hard to comprehend for some people, or the fact that accuracy is not something that can be taught.
Meh...I'm highly suspicious of anyone who gets offended by racial jokes, so long as the intention is to share a joke and make someone laugh. If you do it to intentionally piss someone off then that's something else
Nothing, and I do mean nothing, tastes sweeter than the tears of a Steelers fan.
Sadly I binged on it all last week not knowing what loomed ahead for our Ravens lol
